Billion Place Value<\/strong><\/p>\n

The place value system used by American and European people to read numbers is completely different from the place value system used by Indian people. Indian used a multiple of 10 to get to the next place value. One (Unit) multiplied by 10 is Ten. 10 multiplied by 10 is 100(hundred). 100(hundred) multiplied by 10 is 1000 (Thousand). It goes ahead in the same pattern thousand is followed by ten thousand then comes lakh, Ten lakh, crore, and so on.<\/p>\n

Now we will try to understand the place value system used by Western people to read the number. It is the same as the Indian system up to a place value thousand after that multiple of 1000 is used to go from one place value to another place value instead of 10 multiples.
